The text is "To Alexander from Venedikt with the best feelings / V. Yerofeyev/ 10.07.89".

The first complete official publication in the USSR. The almanac was composed by Benjamin Kaverin, Bulat Okudzhava, Fazil Iskander and others. Before this collection, excerpts from the story were published only in the Sobriety and Culture magazine in 1988. The story "Moscow - Petushki" was written in 1969-1970 and distributed in samizdat. It was first published in the summer of 1973 in Israel in the magazine "AMI", with a circulation of 300 copies; then in 1977 in Paris.

The seriously ill Yerofeyev presented this copy and signed it at the hospital to one of his attending doctors. On May 11 of the following year, Yerofeyev died.
