It is difficult to overestimate the importance of the Battle of Grunwald in the history of Belarus, Poland, and the whole of Europe as a whole. As a result of one of the largest battles of the medieval world, the balance of power on the world stage has completely changed - the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Kingdom of Poland have taken dominant positions in Europe.
The decisive battle of the "Great War" took place on July 15, 1410 on the field between Tannenberg and Grunfeld (Grunwald). The combined forces of the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania under the command of King Vladislav II Jagiello (Jagiello) and Grand Duke Vitovt of Lithuania completely defeated the main forces of the Teutonic Order, thereby putting an end to more than two hundred years of military conflicts and stopping German aggression for many centuries to come.
